PMP provide Confined Space Rescue Team to United Utilities Directors.

During the final outage of a 6 year programme of survey and refurbishment of the Thirlmere Aqueduct, Daniel Contractors were asked by United Utilities to provide safety cover for a group of United Utilities Directors to be escorted into Section 01, downstream from Thirlmere Reservoir Intake Tower.

DCL contracted PMP to provide safety cover and rescue.

PMP mobilised a Confined Space Rescue Team dedicated to the safety of the visitors.

Please let every member of your teams that were involved in the aqueduct tour on Monday just how well received all your efforts have been. Attached below are the comments I have received from the people on the tour. They speak for themselves. I would like to add my thanks.

Mathew Right, United Utilities

Many thanks again for organising today’s TA visit. I’m sure everyone would agree that it was a fascinating and memorable day, meticulously planned and executed by you and the team. For me, even better than the rare opportunity to witness this marvel of engineering, was the enthusiasm shown by everyone involved. What a great advert for teamwork and engagement!!

Colin Merrick, United Utilities

Thanks very much for all your efforts, your planning and your hospitality today, it was a great visit and thoroughly enjoyable! Well done!

Ian Costigan, United Utilities

I want to thank you all for today’s visit to Thirlmere Aqueduct. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and learned a lot from it as well. It is absolutely obvious how well you are all working as a team to deliver such an important investment programme for our customers. I thought the organisation today was impeccable, as was the quality of information and support from the whole team. Your enthusiasm is infectious! Please pass on my sincere thanks and best wishes to everyone involved.

Garry Edwardson, United Utilities

Thanks again for the visit yesterday. The amount of personal time and effort you and the team must have put in to pull of such a successful large scale visit is really appreciated. I think you could tell from all the feedback on the day how much everyone enjoyed it. I also think that the professionalism shown by everyone involved reflects well on Operations and hopefully most of our visitors will have gone away with some appreciation of the scale and complexity of the work we do. Well done. Please pass my thanks onto the team.

Nick Gooseman, United Utilities

Just a quick note to say well done and a big thank you for yesterday – your planning and preparation really paid off. I am sure you got lots of positive feedback on the day and from my perspective the visit was very well received by those who attended. The pictures just don’t do it justice – it was great to actually get in there and see for yourself the challenges you have faced as a team over the past 5 years and to fully appreciate what a fantastic achievement construction of the aqueduct was all those years ago. Keep up the good work and best of luck for what I am sure will be a successful last planned outage for the foreseeable future. Please also pass on my thanks to the rest of the team – particularly the representatives from Daniels and PMP who looked after us so well.

Andrew Cawley, United Utilities

Colleagues, I also wanted to convey my thanks for yesterday’s site visit. It was clear that a huge amount of work went into planning the extremely well executed site visit. The passion from all team members to deliver this project under such tight constraints was absolutely fantastic!

Tim Caven, United Utilities

Can I reiterate Paul’s sentiments. You’ve had loads of thank you messages, I know, but you did organise a fantastic day for us all. What you showed us was a great team that has bonded together and is working to deliver a challenging and risky project and making it look easy. I really enjoyed the day, well worth the effort you put into it and an awful lot of good press with our key stakeholders. Thank you.

Paul Anderton, United Utilities

I would just like to say a big personal thank you to everyone involved for yesterdays site visit. The day was a great success for all involved, from the clear site safety inductions, informative and focused presentations, assisting visitors with PPE and guiding the visitors safely down the ladder and into the confined space with the M-Comm system. Dave/Andrew please can you ensure that you pass on my thanks to ALL the guys involved on the day, they are a credit to the TA project team. Much appreciated.
